Mtskheta - City Museum and Souvenir Market

We will depart directly from the hotel to Georgia’s ancient capital, Mtskheta — a city-museum where history and modern life blend harmoniously.

Our first stop will be the 6th-century Jvari Monastery, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Mtskheta and the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers.

We will then visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most important spiritual and historical monuments. Here, a qualified guide will briefly introduce us to Georgia’s history, the role of Christianity, and Georgian traditions. The cathedral is associated with Christian relics, including the tradition of the Holy Tunic of Christ being brought to Mtskheta.

We will take a walk through the ancient streets of Mtskheta, taste Georgian wine and traditional sweets, purchase local souvenirs, and, if desired, enjoy a horseback ride.
